The headliner was already sagging, and the body is in worse shape than many cars a lot older than it. Red SE (the sporty model). What a shame because the 92-96 Camry is the best car ever made and now it has to share a name with this new piece of shit.

Sagging headliner on a 3 year old car? Man, Toyota really is turning into the new GM.

Yup, and it had a sunroof too, so there's even less of a headliner!
My 96 ES300 doesn't sag at all!

I'm sorry, I think you meant to say that :
The 1991 - 1996 GM B-body
The Panther platform, or
The Miata
was the best car ever made.

I think it has more to do with the type of owner a Camry buyer is. They bought a Camry because they don't care about driving or cars in general. They need an appliance that won't require much care. These are the type that clean their car twice a year by running it thru an automatic wash at the gas station. They have a garage but they use it to store junk even Goodwill doesn't want. So the car sits outside basking in the sun and the elements, and gets no love. Three years later the headliner is sagging, the clearcoat is peeling, and they wonder why the $50 groupon detail didn't make it look new again.

Yeah, but still. I've had mine for 4 years, never garaged, in the extreme NJ weather, harsh hot/cold cycles, and no sagging headliner. The clearcoat is also very intact. And I've only washed my car once, with just a garden hose.
I get your point about people not taking care of their cars, but mine wasn't taken care of by the previous owner, either. And it's still in better shape than the new car mentioned in the OP.
Even though there is an owner neglect issue, there is still a sharp decline in Toyota's quality that can't be attributed solely or predominantly to lack of maintenance.

Probably true... I've seen a lot of late model cars that look like crap already. Mostly Hondas an GM products though. Oxidized paint, peeling chrome, pieces of trim missing, and yellowing headlights. Cars that are only 3-4 years old.

There's a problem if the clear coat's peeling and headliner sagging after only 3 years.

GM B-Body? You misspelled GM Zeta Platform. El Camino! Manual trans SS! So Jalop!
(The new Caprice is pretty cool though.)
